Data & Benchmarks
A member's specific challenge or objective may sometimes be best addressed through data and benchmarking. This can be using Risk Leadership Network tools, or research we develop to help you get peer insights in a tangible format.
Custom benchmarks
A custom benchmark can be facilitated by the Risk Leadership Network team to provide peer comparisons and insights.
Some recent examples of custom benchmarks produced for members include:
A retailer wanted to benchmark their approach to risk assessments, specifically those on principal and enterprise risks.
We interviewed risk leaders at 8 organisations within the retail sector, and produced a bespoke benchmark to highlight the main commonalities and differences in approach.
This enabled our member to make adjustments to their own approach, using the learnings from the benchmark.
A large chemical company wanted to understand how peers were assessing cyber risks in their organisation and getting visibility of potential threats.
To address this objective, we surveyed risk leaders at 11 organisations, who explained where cyber risks fit into their risk registers and the methods they are using to quantify cyber risks.
This data helped our member to validate their existing approach and identify opportunities for uplift.
Following similar benchmarks in other sectors, a member in the beverages sector requested a deep-dive into risk evaluation criteria at other companies in their industry.
To compile a report, which identified sector trends and current thinking around risk evaluation criteria, we interviewed risk leaders at six beverage companies, operating around the world and headquartered across Australia, United Kingdom and Europe, and North America.
We asked each risk leader a series of mostly open-ended questions to understand which risk evaluation tool(s) they use (i.e. the risk matrix), the content within their matrix and how risk evaluation is applied throughout the business. This information was a valuable input into our member’s review of their risk assessment process.
