FAQs

Who has taken part in the benchmark?

11 different global manufacturing companies with multiple sites  (all data anonymised).

The more relevant unifying factors are their large, complex risk profiles, and divergent operational and strategic risks that must be managed differently as multiple sites and in as many as 20+ countries.

What data is included?
  • Details and analysis of risk operating models - how is Risk structured?
  • Breakdown of Risk team components and resources, split by company size.
  • Risk priorities - the priority focus area for the Risk team.
How was the data collected?

Input for this benchmarking report was collected via a short online survey, sent by invitation only to relevant risk leaders among the global Risk Leadership Network membership and wider risk community. The survey asked a series of mostly closed questions, with a small number of free text fields to collect additional insight. The research process is designed to be straightforward for participants, with simple quantitative data then used for streamlined analysis. All responses have been anonymised for this report.

Why did you create this benchmark?

A member approached us with a priority:  to work out how to effectively deploy the risk resource, how to incorporate first line risk support, how to aggregate inconsistent risk information and how to ensure thta both top-down and bottom-up risk management is working effectively in the business.  Together we decided that the best way to approach this was for Risk Leadership Network to create a bespoke benchmark, using insights from other organisations with similar challenges.

This is one of the many ways that we work with members to address their risk priorities.

Do you have any other benchmarks?

Yes, we regularly create benchmarks or pulsechecks  in response to our members' priorities. Take a look at some of our latest benchmarks here. Through our bespoke, consierge "network assistance" service, we deliver these niche reports in a timely way to meet the exact needs of the organisation who requested it. Of course, the benchmarks are often useful for other organisations too and we share the results. If you'd like us to create a benchmark for your organisation, please fill in this form and we'll get back to you with a time-frame and membership proposal.

How do I get hold of this report?

Please fill in the form and we'll present the key findings to you*, and discuss how our members are leveraging the data in the report to operationalise and accelerate ERM better practice.

Due to the high value data in the report, we only send the report to members of Risk Leadership Network.
